Venice L. Walton
Venice L. Walton was a native of Columbia, South Carolina. She attended the public schools of Richland County and graduated from Columbia High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of South Carolina and a M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix. Venice was a lifelong member of Second Calvary Baptist Church. She was active in numerous organizations including serving as president of P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens) and vice-chair of the James M. Hinton Foundation.
The award is presented to volunteers that:
- help the foundation achieve its mission of positively impacting the community
- can be relied on to do what needs to be done timely, efficiently and effectively
- demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for what they’re doing
- serve as a unifier by bringing people together and encouraging them to take up the cause
